Ingredients: 1 cup Moong daal 1 cup Brown rice 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds (only in winter) 1 tsp Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp Ginger powder 5 Pepper corns(only in winter) 4-5 Curry leaves lemon juice to taste salt to taste 1 -2 tsp Sunflower oil 1/4 cup Coriander leaves
Preparation It is very important to soak brown rice and moong daal overnight in hot water with a little sea weed(organic), remove the water and seeweed in the morning and after washing it fresh set of water , boil it in fresh water.
Tips: Please use the water for the plants instead of just throwing it away!
Take a pan or pressure cooker, add the oil and wait until it is slightly heated, then add the mustard seeds, cumin seeds turmeric powder, peppercorns, curry leaves and once we hear the popping sounds, add the rice and lentils and add upto 4 cups of water, ginger powder, salt and mix it well, finally cover it and cook well, if cooking on the stove in a pan it will approximately take close to 40 min to get done. Once it is well cooked, serve it on a plate with lemon juice and coriander leaves on top. Enjoy your meal!
